STORY

The Rune of Change is one of the 27 True Runes that are said to have created the world.

Solar Year 453. Tragedy strikes a lakeside village located east to the Scarlet Moon Empire, where mysterious enemies attack, houses go up in flames, and people have to flee for their lives.
After the threat leaves, the Hero, along with Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur stand up to restore the village.
As the Hero and his friends depart for their journey, they quickly get caught up in the great swells of history.
What are the atrocities that torment the people of the Empire?
What kind of destiny will these encounters with Viktor, Flik, Odessa, and various others lead to?
Small adventures eventually turn into a large ambition.

    Hero CV:Tomohiro Ono
    The protagonist of this story and son of the village chief, Hou.
    He is kind, courageous, and charming.

    VOICE

    A servant that works in the Hero's house. Due to reasons unknown, she is suppressing her emotions, however, she is a cheerful and kind girl by nature.

    VOICE

    Chief of the village and father of the Hero.
    He used to be a fiery fighter, but he brought the ruffians together and created a new village. Other than that, his past is shrouded in mystery, but he seems to have relations with many important people in various countries.

    VOICE

    The Hero's childhood friend.
    Her high-spirited personality is a mirror to her father's, who raised her on his own. She sometimes gets caught up in tunnel vision, but her sense of justice is strong.

    The Hero's teacher and butler of the Hou household.
    He used to be a general. He doesn't seem to be the kind of person to settle as a butler of a household in a small village...

    The hero's younger sister. Highly independent and passionate for cooking, she even goes on culinary training trips on her own.
    Highly sensitive to taste and smell, she has a promising future as a cuisinier.

    As a childhood buddy of Hou, he was also involved in the founding of the village.
    Similarly to his daughter, Shirin, he has a wide circle of friends and runs a tavern that people come to gossip in.

    She works at the trading post and is always cheerful and lighthearted. 
    She is often mistaken for a child, but rumor has it that she is even stronger than Hou due to lugging around so much luggage all the time.

    A powerful village guard sent by Shapur. 
    His energy may make him appear like he lacks caution, but he is an open and honest person that quickly allowed him to fit in with the villagers.

    A creature of the Rarby race who speaks our language and makes a living as an adventure-tale spinner.
    Having set his heart on writing the hero's adventure chronology, he has forcefully moved into the archives room.

    VOICE

    An aristocrat of the Scarlet Moon Empire whom the hero met during his journey. 
    With her innate kindness and strong sense of justice, she rose up against the Empire and goes on to become the leader of the Liberation Army.

    VOICE

    A traveling swordsman that Odessa and company encountered while being chased by the Empire. 
    A bit of a show-off, but he has excellent swordsmanship and always makes sure to protect his allies. He later goes on to join the Liberation Army.

    Viktor CV:Katsuyuki Konishi

    VOICE

    Encounters Odessa during his journey, and being highly impressed by her strength of will, decides to fight alongside her. 
    He has an easygoing and daring personality but his foundation in sword fighting is solid, and he later goes on to join the Liberation Army.

    VOICE

    An assassin that targets the Hero and co. He has a wide range of emotions but is willing to listen to Aegir, whom he deeply respects.

    An assassin who targets the Hero and co. He is usually a cool, calm, and collected fighter, but he has accumulated many wounds while protecting Ragnar, whom he holds close to his heart.

    The eldest of the martial arts sisters, RanRinTen. She was born into an artistocratic family, but the name has since fallen, and she is currently working as a bodyguard to restore the family name. She normally appears very elegant and ladylike, but…

    The middle sister of the martial arts sisters, RanRinTen, and the most responsible. She appears a bit cold, but she wholeheartedly wishes to fulfill her sister, RanRan's wish.

    The youngest of the martial arts sisters, RanRinTen. She is a free-spirited, spoiled girl with a cheerfulness that makes her quick to open up to people. She also has a big sweet-tooth.

    Known and feared as "Varkas the Whirlwind Axe" for the furious way he swings his axe in battle. Head of the bandits who make Mt. Seifu their base, he is a compassionate and loyal person.

    Together with Varkas, he is a bandit on Mt. Seifu. Although he doesn't speak much, he trusts Varkas and is known as "Sydonia of the Toate" as he can move into attack enemies in the blink of an eye.

BATTLE

Normal Battle
This game employs a timeline turn based battle​ system.
A highly strategic battle in which players choose from three types of actions: normal attacks, runes and special techniques to fight together with their allies.
War mode
A real-time strategy system in which both enemies and allies units move simultaneously.
Command your troops and lead them to victory while keeping an eye on the situation.
Party edit
Up to six players can be set in the front and back rows.
Characters from previous numbered titles in the Suikoden series can also be used.

LOCATION

  • The Village MOVIE
    A village located to the east of the great Scarlet Moon Empire. Perched on the shore of a large lake, there are multiple bodies of water within the village. Amongst the luscious nature, the Great Tree stands in the center of the village, acting as its symbol and watching over the lives of the people.
  • Gregminster MOVIE
    The capital of the Scarlet Moon Empire, the Gregminster Castle towering high. A thriving commercial city always full of energy and vitality, people from around the world visit this place. The city inn is frequented by many people, including those from the Hero's village.
